d-worx Launches Upgrade to its SaaS Access Analysis Service for Mobile Website
~ Support for Smartphone-Based Access Analysis ~

TOKYO, Japan - April 20, 2009 - d-worx Inc. has released a Spring 2009 version of its mobile website access analysis service, wellout. The new version, which is available from April 20, also supports the analysis of accesses made through smartphones.

wellout is an access analysis and advertising performance measurement service dedicated to mobile websites. It was launched by d-worx in October 2005 as Japan’s first ever such service for mobile websites. wellout supports authorized and open websites for the following mobile network operators (Internet service name in brackets): NTT docomo (i-mode), au (EZweb) and SoftBank (Yahoo! Keitai).

The new version of wellout supports the analysis of website accesses through smartphones (iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile). The smartphone market is growing globally in line with recent trends in mobile device usage scenarios and an ever-increasing range of smartphone applications.

"We’re currently offering wellout only in Japan," says d-worx CEO Daigoro Izumi. "However, we’re thinking of expanding the service overseas in the future as other markets with usage profiles that resemble Japan’s begin to emerge."

In the Japanese market, as of the end of March, 2009, mobile phone usage contracts numbered 107.48 million, equivalent to almost one for every member of Japan’s population. Of those contracts, 84.8% support Internet access, and 92.7% are for 3G phones. With the increase in flat-rate unlimited mobile Internet access users, mobile phone-based Internet usage is growing markedly year-on-year, resulting also in a steady increase in demand for mobile access analysis services.

Driven by the general release of Blackberry handsets in July 2007, and iPhone 3G in June 2008, smartphone user numbers are also on the rise in Japan. Japanese users are attracted to high-end functionality, and smartphones are accordingly gaining increasingly wide acceptance. As such, analysis of smartphone user Internet access is expected to become increasingly important to mobile marketing. It is for this reason that d-worx has equipped the new version of wellout with support for smartphone-based access analysis.
